Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
A little progress on the interior, I worked on the dashboard of the 037 which is quite basic as a dash. The only problem is to find the good reference. There are millions of photos of the 037 interior - Evo 1, Evo 2 and current ones but it is difficult to find from the 1984 Tour de Corse. I only found one which corresponds to the race - regarding the matching numberplate on the doorpanel. I drilled the center part and the rivets and made the fuses which was covered with a dark transparent chocolate cover, bought 15 years ago. The heater grills were made from the unused Studio 27 037 radiator mesh and added some Halda Tripmaster and watch to match the reference.

Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
Thank you Jesus and Micha! Not much time for modelling nowadays but managed to do some progress on the Lancia. I started to paint and detail some interior and engine parts. The engine from Claudio De Bellis is really a MASTERPIECE! I've never seen such an accurate and complete engine detail set which is far beyond any MFH quality. Not much to improve on it, only to change some screws, if you really really want to go into realistic appearance. I added some casting texts from Archer to some aluminiun pipes as my reference showed. The rear frame is awesome, I only changed some bolts and joints. On the interior, I modified the center consol a bit and painted the excellent KMP seats to dark blue/black rear, according to my reference. The blue was varnished with AK Ultra Matt Varnish to achieve the matt aspect of the textile. Next will be the engine assembly wit all those comlicated cables and pipes, I sill need to find a good authentic reference.

Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
Some progress on the interior and the engine. I made the gearshift updating the original one, carved out the housing and added some detail to it. Joined the engine with the compressor and assembled the pulleys. It is quite straightforward, I only added some homemade camshaft decal to it. I enclosed the decal graphic for reference . I also started to add some wires, connected the distributor to the plugs. It needs to be fixed to the camshaft cover, it is made from a 0,2mm aluminium sheet painted semi-gloss black. Than I moved on to the fuel system, connected the Kugelfishcer injector to the injection ports above. The collector, where the MFH clear tubes pass through is made from a 0,5mm sheet with 4, 0,5mm holes drilled in it. I have to say that the engine builds itself, because it is so accurate . You only need to paint and add some wireing

Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
Slow advance on the Lancia, joined the chassis with the rear frame, it fits perfectly to it's place. I added metal rod ends form RB Motion to the lower front suspension arm and fixed them with 0,8 hex rivets from Top studio. Also inserted the interior tub but it remains removeable in order to put the engine in later

Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
Hello Jesus, yes the frame fits perfectly on the chassis. The only trick is to thin down the chassis where the frame overlaps it on the sides. You also have to be careful not to snap it while you are tweaking it. I couldn't resist and put the engine with the gearbox in the frame to see how it looks. It is too bad that all the pulleys area will be invisible in the car. the firewall covers it completely

Re: Hasegawa Lancia Rally 037 Alen Kivimaki Tour de Corse 1984
Thanks Jesus! Little progress on the rear suspension, the progressive spring was made from 0,5 brass wire on a 3mm drillbit. Made the shocks from 2mm plastic rod and 1mm needle. The joints were changed to RBmotion ones, screws were also from them. It is not fixed yet, I have to see it with the body on to set the proper height. If you use the original printed parts from Claudio / GP Modeling, the set up is perfect.
