08 Staurn Vue XE radio locked

Does anyone know how to unlock a new radio for a 2008 Saturn Vue? I am replacing radio with same model from another 08 Vue.

There is no way to unlock it. You must take the vehicle to a dealership to have the your Vue's VIN programmed into the radio. The BCM will allow the radio to function normally after this is completed.

The radio you installed either doesn't have a VIN programmed into it at all (if it's brand new) or still has the VIN from the donor vehicle programmed into it. In either case the BCM in your Vue sees the VIN doesn't match and doesn't allow the radio to work.

Thanks. Was hoping to avoid going to a dealership. Would my local independent shop be able to do this?
