2003 ls ac not working

So my 2003 LS AC is not working. I had the Unit fully charged. and it started working. A few days later it stopped working. Checked Freon, and it is fully charged. I get power at the compressor but it will not engage.
I ran the DATC Self test and got a 24 26 code back. Does anyone know what this code is?
Any ideas on why the ac clutch will not engage?

Re: 2003 ls ac not working

Welcome to the forum!

Please try re-running the self test. The 2003 Factory Service Manual does not define a self test diagnostic code of 24 26 for the DATC system.

Did you have the AC system serviced by a reputable shop or by a shadetree? Did they evacuate the system and start fresh with the specified amount of R-134a? If not, it is possible that they over-charged the system even though it worked for a few days.

So far found that the 2426 Code isis:
B2426 Pass Solar Radiation Sensor Circuit Open DATC

Rod,
Yes the system was evacuated and recharged to factory specs.

Still compressor clutch will not engage.

Re: 2003 ls ac not working

Hmmm, I wonder if that is not the correct DATC module for your car.... The description of that code suggests Passenger sunload sensor, the 2003 LS only has a single sun load sensor. It's top center of the dash with the Security LED.

The AC clutch gets power via the Clutch Relay and fuse F1.01 (10A) in the Aux Junction Box underhood. The relay coil is powered via fuse F1.11 (15A) in the same box. The PCM grounds the relay coil when the AC is requested AND the pressure transducer is within range (not over- or under- charged). From the manual, it appears the pressure transducer should read 1.3-1.4 DCV for a properly charged system with the key in the Run position.

Probably the place to start is with a shop that has a set of AC manifold gauges and understands how to read them. Have them connect to the AC system in your car and make sure the pressures are where they should be for a properly charged system.
