Don't get me wrong. They didn't look bad, just they didn't look anything like what people generally considered muscle cars. Plus they were by no means a medium sized car, they were quite large. Besides it is just my opinion.

Everyone has a valid opinion
I guess that until the 'stripes 'n scoops' era hit in the mid '60s muscle cars could only differentiate themselves (visually) by a lowered stance, wicked exhaust or discrete badgework. Even the first Goats (or Super-Stock Dodges for that matter) were pretty plain old units, eh? But then again, I counted 9 separate air intakes on the front of a WRX - all it needed was a periscope to complete the picture :apuke: |

You bet!
Also 440s, plus the early Hemi in 331, 354 & the superb 392 were offered through the years Even the 426 Elephant was (at least) catalogued Here's that awesome induction system on an original 400hp 4 speed 300F (note the 30" intake runners) A 300F coupe would have to be on my top-ten wish list (if only!) To find out more on the above car click here then go to 'Stories' then 'Wayne Graefen's 300F Special' |

I think the most badass cars were:
Anything equipped with the 426 Hemi The L88 Vette LS6 and LS7 motors were also badass. I'm just a young'un tho, so I'm more familiar with all this EFI, non carbed stuff.

Re: Pontiac GTO, The First and Last REAL Musclecar
The horsepower war's started in the 30's but I have to say that the Chrysler 300 did start it.
