OBC of '85 Euro 635 has no backlight
I hope one of you guys might be able to help me out. I am the proud owner of a '85 Euro Spec M635csi...love the car other than everything is in Greman..which I dont read..lol...This car eats the road up all the way to 158MPH just like it supposed to "Oh Yeah!!!" .....
Anyhow my problem is, the OBC works fine , but the screen does not light up so I can only see the reading at certain angle... and daylight....it is very very dim, but the readings are there.. Avg Speed, MPG, code, outside Temp ( which keep telling me it -22F outside) ????? but not bright at all. The key pad light up just fine and dimms with the intertior lights dimmer when the head light are on. This seemed to have occured when the battery died out due to the light being left on. Any suggestions to a fix? From what I have read on here you guys seem to be very helpful... Thx in advance. Gerard Kelemen |

Hmm,
radio shack part# 272-1140 6v bulbs. It takes two bulbs soldered in. Here is a procedure to remove the bulb holder. http://bavauto.com/Assets/inst_pages...p._Display.pdf If the outside temperature is reading -22 it needs a new sensor. The sensor is located in the brake cooling, front airdam, on the drivers side. Part NumberDescriptionPrice65 81 1 385 337External Air Temperature Sensor for Computer $44.95
