Question 02 tranny swap.?

SO I HAVE this Passat that I want as my project car. Lol. I know but it’s just sitting around I need to change the head gasket and maybe even the coolent system. But other then that it’s a good car it’s just an automatic and I would rather it be a manual. And also I don’t have any car experience except for changing tires 😪😪 but I’m only 18 with no car enthusiast in my family, so im trying something that I can gain a lot of knowledge on and still have fun. I’m on here to see what you guys think and where’s should I start.?? Oh and I have to replace the o2 sensor which I may do so idk tho. Any

Re: 02 tranny swap.?

I think a tranny swap is too much for a beginner. Not only are you going to need a lot of tools - some of them specialized - but it's going to take some planning to avoid the mistakes.

Try starting on something less involved.

Thanks for the response so should I just get her up and running then.? I know what’s needed tools parts just don’t have the experience under the hood. My bestfriend and his family are kinda car people so I won’t be completely alone but with people who have a little more car knowledge then me.
