Inner tie rod replacement help!!

A friend of mine has a Scion TC 2006, and well long story short, they hit a patch of ice, and bent the inner tie rod on the passenger side....I'm just curious as to how i would go about replacing the rod, i'm pretty good with cars, the only thing is i dont know if i need any special tools, or any special precedures to go about replacing it... I'll take a closer look at everything once the wheel is off...but i'm pretty sure the only thing is the tie rod that needs to be replace..

once again, any information to help me replace the inner tie rod would be great...diagrams would be great too! I'll take all the help i can get!
