GM Dealer/Refuses work on models older than 2010

Tried to get my radiator flushed on 2002 GMC Sierra....advised by service department they do not work on GM vehicles older than 2010....anyone else have similar experience? TIA

Yes, the Dodge dealer here has the same policy, not Texas though, as no rust for you guys for the most part. Rust issues here certainly create problems during repairs. Some independents, based on the type of repair, same thing.

Would think non warranty repairs would be a money maker for dealers at the rates they charge.

Well on paper that is what would make sense. Then there are broken bolts, frozen in parts, state inspection requirements. So the shops are gun shy to open up an expensive can of worms that can cause issues with the car and truck owners.

Hey, on the bright side they lost your business… Radiator flush is a pretty easy job.

On a 20 year old vehicle, depending on how frequently you have changed your coolant you may need a new radiator.

Are you having cooling issues?
