Programming keyless Entry Remote AND Transponder Key

My wife and I just purchased a 2002 Toyota Sequoia Limited 2WD. I wanted to see if I could get anyone to send me the procedure for the following:

1. Clear all from computer in case it's full
2. Add/Program Keyless entry remote control
3. Add/Program Blank Transponder key into a Master copy key
4. Add/Program Blank Transponder key into Valet copy key
5. Difference in procedures for different year models
6. Similarities to other model Toyotas (such as Tacoma, etc.)

If someone can send me these instructions (preferrably the .pdf from Toyota), I can post these on my permanent website with a easy to remember URL for anyone to refer too.

I'm seeking assistance with this for my own toyota, but would love to be able to assist or help others any way that I can. I have virtually unlimited storage space and a generous 768k upload speed with static ip, so hopefully this is a good asset to offer.

As always thanks in advance to any who can assist. Your assistance NEVER goes unappreciated by us in this forum.

Sincerely,
Bret Bowman

05 Sequoia number of keys?

I just bought a 05 Sequoia. I misplace my keys alot, so my solution has always been to have extra sets. Is it possible to program more than 4 keys for the truck? I just paid a boatload of cash at the dealership to program five keys and was then was told only fours keys were possible. Now I have a cut key that will not start the truck. With Nissan it was easy to buy remote off of ebay and program them myself. Toyota makes it much harder in 05. Can anyone send me the sequence for the keys and the remotes for future. Is it as hard as the dealer makes it out to be? lol@cox.net thnkas dave

Programming spare keys: for 1998 to 2002

1.. Copy the cuts of the original working key onto the appropriate
transponder blank.

2.. Enter the car and close all of the doors.

3.. Simultaneously depress and release both the brake and accelerator pedals.

4.. Within five seconds, insert a working pre-programmed key into the ignition cylinder, and turn to the "on" position.

5.. Within fifteen seconds of turning the ignition, depress and release
the accelerator pedal five times for a primary key. (Depress and release four times for a valet key.)

6.. Within twenty seconds, depress and release the brake pedal six times for a primary key. (Depress and release only times for a valet key.)

7.. Turn the ignition to the "off" position and immediately remove the
key.

8.. Within ten seconds of removing the key, insert the new key and turn it to the "on" position.

9.. Within ten seconds, depress and release the accelerator pedal once. The security light will then flash for 60 seconds and then turn off. When the security light stops flashing the programming should be complete.

10.. Start the vehicle to verify that programming was successful.

FOR 2002+
1.Make sure all doors and windows are closed.
2.Insert master key into the ignition cylinder.
3.Cycle the ignition cylinder from ON to OFF 5 times.
4.Open and close the driver side door 6 times.
5.Remove the master key and insert the new duplicate key.
6.DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON
7.The new key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the
dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed.
"some 2002 will work using the 1998+ programming."

Thank you for the instructions. I just bought a 2002 Camry LE V6, but only have one black key (I assumed its the master key). Will this instruction work for my car? I was told you can only program up to 3 keys. How do I erase all previous keys, and then add my new one. I did purchase a transponder key off Ebay, but their instructions don't work. I asked for alternate instructions, but just have no luck. My dash do not have a THEFT light, so I assumed I should use the 1998-2002 instructions. But how do I reset all previous keys? I will appreciate if you can e-mail me the instruction in PDF file, kietman35@gmail.com. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Great Postings Folks,
I have a question on the instructions above...
DO you have to have the MASTER key to program the new key? OR... Can I program a new Blank tansponder from the Grey Valet key?

And I f it is possible to program a new Master key fromt he Grey key... then is this a Real master key or is it really a Clone?

Thanks in advance
P.

Re: Program Toyota Master Key

I registered just to confirm that the procedure worked on my recently purchased 2002 Camry LE V6.

By the way, the reason you need a master key is to confirm to the vehicle that you are the owner. Or another way to say this is to prevent a valet (or whoever you give the grey key to) from programming a master key for your car.

Help!

It has been quite a long time since people wrote in here, but i will try my luck anyway:
I purchased a 2005 toyota Matrix XR.
Installed Viper 791VX with remote start, and now bought a few blank transponder keys so i can use the remote start.
I have found over the net a few instruction for programming the keys, but cannot complete any of them.
PLEASE! advise?

Thanks,
