That counts for something, right. Right?

Just a comment:
GT3 is great. But I don't think it would have been the same without the Pagani. There are no Ferraris and no Lamborghinis in the game (well, here in the U.S.). Italy is known for churning out some of the sweetest road going machines of all time, and to not include any genuine Italian exotics would be a sin. Nicely rounds out the game. |

I agree, I was pissed when I couldn't get any italian exotics other than the Pagani. My theory as to why: The big-shots at Ferrari and Lamborghini didn't want to be in a game where they wouldn't be some of the top cars on the game. There are tons of racecars that could kill them in the game, and they wanted to be the aspirational cars.

Good logic. What they don't know is that the people who actually BUY anything from the Gran Turismo line usually know a thing or two about cars. It's pretty well known that Italian exotics aren't the fastest cars in the world (hell, they are designed to be forgiving street cars), but speed isn't the only reason why people buy them. It's about a feeling of prestige of owning the streets with something excitingly unusual. Polyphony could have easily stuck in an "Exotic Car Championship" limited only to these vehicles. Wouldn't that be a nice sight--a replay with six of Italy's finest. Ferrari could even have allowed their race-proven, world dominating, Schumacher Formula 1..er "Formula GT" racer.
Well I'm glad at least someone was willing to permit their cars. Thank you Pagani. |
