Exclamation power locks/alarm system

DOOR LOCKS/ALARM SYSTEM
2004 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER

I have a problem with my power locks they won't work with my remote at all/since this has happened alarm system will not set to activate when need.. I can not find where the fuse would be located.. I have tried reseting it myself with remote still nothing.. Can somebody give me an ideal about what to do the manual doesn't explain anything about this problem.. I'm going crazy with this not until I can't set alarm, I can't open doors ahead of time while walking to my car and I have no access to back hatch window to open either......

Re: power locks/alarm system

Welcome to the forum!

Let me see if I understand the issue. It sounds like the key fob that would go on your key chain has stopped working to lock and unlock the doors, as well as the rear liftgate glass. The fourth button on the fob doesn't work either, which is the panic feature. Is that correct? Do you have another fob that was previously programmed for this truck that you could try? Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob?

Do the power door locks work from the button on the driver's door?

The panic button works and I also have a automatic start up kit on my truck and that button works just as well... I haven't tried replacing battery yet since those do work.. The buttons on my door panel for the locks doesn't work either.... I was thinking it could be a fuse if only I knew where that was located at.. When I push the buttons on door panel I don't hear no type of sound as the motor or anything

Re: power locks/alarm system

Okay, since the panic button works on the factory remote and the button on the driver's door fails to activate the locks as well (that info would have been helpful in the original post) you're on the right track to look at fuses and other lock wiring issues.

There are four fuses you'll want to look at, fuse F2.20 (5A) in the Central Junction Box and fuses F1.2 (30 A), F1.16 (15A) and F1.22 (20 A) in the Battery Junction Box.

Re: power locks/alarm system

I am having same sort of issue. Differences are I can unlock the doors with key and inside panel. I have changed the battery on the keyfob and have also checked the fuse under steering wheel. All are fine. Keyfob will not lock or unlock doors nor will it set the alarm. Any clue what might be wrong?

thank you,

Mike
