Re: Your Car Audio System

Ported box can get 1 octave deeper or 3 db louder. From my understanding im sure its a lot louder than that depending on how its tuned, cuft of box and the other factors as far as speaker and amp.

Why are you asking if 3 will sound better ported or sealed you already said you have 4 MA's in a ported box.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Your Car Audio System

Im gonna take a wild punt and guess that frontstage means front speakers...

I got some JBL 5*7s in the front doors and a kenwood KFCW1202 DFC 12" Sub in the boot. With a new season Pioneer Head Unit with aux input for the iPod.

I am having some sound deadening issues with my doors and boot lid, anyone have any tips on what sort of insulation to use. The rears on the rear dash are fine coz i fixed that up, as you've seen on the pic.

Any tips and tricks i should know about??

Re: Your Car Audio System

Why not put the components in the front in kicks or door pods?

Re: Your Car Audio System

Theres more room in the front for a larger cone, and the hole is oval shaped anyway. I got the splits off a guy for 50 bucks so theres no way i aint using them.

Re: Your Car Audio System

I just put a Jensen MP 5720XM in the mazda. Even with 13 year old speakers it sounds very nice. I will still probably get the better speakers for it. No AMP or Boom Box , since I consider it to be a waste of money and space.
