Re: Your Car Audio System

I put other, MTX all the way. Panasonic head unit for now... 2 MTX Thunder TA91002 amps, 2 MTX T9512-44 (12's for those of you that don't know), a Sledge Hammer box (by MTX for those subs), MTX tweeters, 6 1/2's, and 6x9's on the inside, Tsunami 20 Farad cap, trunk mounted extra Optima battery, Tsunami wiring, and I think it's Dynamat silencer. I didn't keep track of how much I paid for it all, I didn't want to. More than what I paid for my car though

Re: Your Car Audio System

PLEASE see my opinions appreciated thread. I was or am or will continue to be a Nakamichi fanatic. I had a Nakamichi CR-7 home cassette deck and my Army roomate had a Dragon. Oh, the good ole days, huh?

Re: Your Car Audio System

Phoenix Gold roadster 66 5 limited edition 5 channel amp, 2 sets of Macintosh MS S630 6.5 inch components and a DLS ultimate nobelium 10 inch sub in a sealed box, all running of a Alpine IVA-W505 head unit, also have a 20 farad soundstream cap (overkill, I know but got it on the cheap from a friend). In a 2007 GMC Yukon XL.

Re: Your Car Audio System

I've got a humble system for my ride. It consists of the following components;
Alpine CDA-9833 HU
Alpine SPS-46C2
Alpine SPS-69C2 with an MTX Thunder4122 to power them
Infinity Reference 611a
(2) Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 subs in a sealed MTX Bass slammer enclosure with .65 cuft per chamber
Street wires wiring and RCA cables
Stinger ground distribution block
Direct Audio fused power distribution block
Lanzar 1.2 power capacitor

Not the greatest setup in the world, but far from the worst. I have somewhere between $1300-$1500 wrapped up in it. Next ride will likely have an extra $500 invested in the system as I plan to sound deaden the vehicle and use JL audio speakers/subs, and get a name brand cap.

Again, it's nothing to really brag about, but it should turn a few heads.

Oh, and as for the best brand IMO, out of those you have listed I'd say Alpine, but in truth the only things I really liked from Alpine were the HU's and amps. I'm not too impressed with their Type-s speakers I have or any of the subs of theirs I've heard, with the exception of a Type-X sub I once heard. Alpine seems to have gone down hill in the last few years, so I'm not even sure I can still say they're the best out of those listed to choose from. For speakers and subs I'd vote JL Audio. I know there are far more expensive brands out there and some of which are even more SQ oriented than JL, but I've never personally heard them, nor could I likely ever afford them.

Re: Your Car Audio System

My setup is crap because of my amp but I have:

2 12" Kenwoods 1200 watts each
and a crappy Lighting Audio amp.
