Re: Your Car Audio System

I am in the process of putting a decent system in my 92 Lincoln Continental. Here is a list of what I have so far.

JVC KD-ADV38 head unit with DVD,
Tsunami X15HCAP 40F Hybrid Super Cap,
Kicker ZX 650.4 amp,
Kicker ZX 700.5 amp,
Kicker ZX 2500.1 amp,
LA Sounds 80 watt amp for center channel speakers,
2 Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro 12's,
2 Kenwood KFC 6982ie 5 way 6x9's,
2 Hifonics Zeus ZX i6.5C component speakers,
1 Kicker TS10L5 Solo-Baric in Kicker box,
Tsunami 1/0 amp wire kit.

Will be getting a bigger alternator and a second battery. Have to build a box for my 12's yet. I have some 3" Blaupunkt speakers that I think I will use for my center channel speakers. Will have to make boxes for them too. Right now I only have my 700x5 amp hooked up and it pounds pretty good. Can't wait to get the rest done.

Re: Your Car Audio System

there is no such thing as too much midbass, perish the thought. I have two 8" midbass drivers with a 98 dB/wm efficiency running on a 325 W/ch amp.

Re: Your Car Audio System

that's a normal price ......... They were like $200 ea new in the 80's when they were still making them. The great thing is, they can be reconed forever.

Re: Your Car Audio System

They were mostly listing brands that you could but an entire stereo from. Rockford makes mostly amps and subs with decent selection of main speakers.... but only one headunit (may not be available anymore), one EQ/processor currently available, ect ..

Re: Your Car Audio System

If you put 6's or 10's in certain types of boxes, it puts you in a different class than someone with a standard sealed or ported box .... at least in the comps here in the US

Re: Your Car Audio System

ummm ... that's 600 amps of fusing for appx 3000 watts of power. 1 x 150 amp fuse should be enough, you have wired up something(s) wrong if you are blowing just less than 600 amps of fusing.
