'05 Viper Coupe
I'm kind of dissapointed by the looks of this, maybe it's the angle but it is not at all appealing to me...

Ok nevermind Motor Trend just showed the new GTS as they call it and it's basically like the pictures of that blue one with white stripes and that that was posted here a long while back. The yellow one i seen in Road&Track didn't look that great, maybe it was just the angle, either way I'm not very impressed what they're doing with the new Viper. It should be lighter and more powerful otherwise it's ass will be handed to it by the new Z06 and GT. It'd be nice if Dodge made something like the carbon concept as a production vehicle, put it out for 100G and I'm sure it'd sell. Now if it could just drop weight to about 3200 or less and have 550 hp and equal torque or more...
This sucks Dodge should be putting a little more effort into this car, Chrysler should build the gadamn ME 412 and not be such pussies...

Re: '05 Viper Coupe
Well I have seen Viper Vs. GT performance numbers... Same driver and everything else, anyways the viper pulled ahead in the end with .5 of a faster quarter mile.
Also, the one thing that I don’t like is the talk about putting a supercharged HEMI into the next generation with about 550HP but its still bad in my mind. And the 550HP HEMI will be possible because of the SRT8 Magnums and 300C’s. Coming out in a year or so with around 425HP. |

Yeah they have th 6.1 Hemi now but it's not big enough of an engine for a Viper imo. Keep that 505 V10 in there and just put a different cam in it and maybe work the heads and you could obtain 550 hp. I know Motor Trend compared them and the Viper does beat it in 1/4 mile but evreything below that the Viper gets smoked in acceleration. I dont know if the new Z06 or GT can outhandle the Viper coupe but we'll just have to wait and see.

No doubt about that probably but dont look over the Viper. We all know the Viper's have shit for traction, and they cannot perform for shit off the line. It drops the clutch at 2200 rpm for a best launch, talk about low rpms. Now in Motor Trend's test the Viper got beat to 60 by .3 seconds by the Ford GT(3.6) yet caught up and beat it in the quarter mile, may be only by one hundredth of a second but STILL caught up so this should tell you of how this badass can accelerate like a mofo through each of these gears. Now they were saying acceleration for coupe and convertible Vipers is the same up to 120 mph where the coupe will start to pull away because of less drag. I know the new Z06 is gonna be a hellacious performer but dont think that it's just gonna smoke the Viper...everyone thinks that a Viper will get smoked by a GT on the track, guess what, your all wrong about that. Motor Trend's comparison did not list lap times but they did clue in on the Viper coming out on top, why haven't any other magazines done this comparo?? maybe they're waiting for the Z06 to come out to compare the three, or maybe they just dont want you to see the GT get beat somewhere where this cars history had come alive. Overall though I have to agree that Dodge is fucking up with this car, put it on a fucking diet!!!!!! Christ anything over 3200 lbs is well over it's weight for performance, I'm sorry but there is no such thing as a supercar weighing that much, no reason at all for that. Now I dont know if Dodge is still fingering their assholes over the hole Nascar shit but truly, who cares about Nascar?? Put it into the one thing Dodge is truly standing for, the Viper. When you go to ask someone what they know about Dodge what do you think they'd say, Viper or Nascar?? Probably neither, fucking Hemi but the Chrysler corp. is playing it wrong, I mean wtf is this Hemi powered viper chassis Chrysler all about, build the damn ME-412. Edit: I just thought about something someone had said in a Truck Comparison thread, Dodge(or Chrysler for that matter) should stop coming up with all these danged concepts and put their money into something worth while and stop wasting it. Also sorry for the profanity up above, if wanted I will edit it out it just really irks me...sorry.

I like the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe, but I like the 2006 Corvette Z06 more.

Wow...thumbs up on those pictures man, angle is good and I've never seen the color scheme before. Those wheels, even though they're not chrome look better than what was on the blue and white version. Good find 57JagXKSS.
I'll pic the looks of the Viper over the Corvette any day, but performance whise I'm not sure yet, prob still Viper though.

The 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe doesn't look like the 2003 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe because of regulations and stuff. Oh well.
