well i got the power problem fixed. wire was shorted so i had to trace it back through the whole damn engine bay. what a pain in the ass. now, i cant start it yet because the car is not getting fuel. i dont hear the fuel pump kicking on so im about to go check the fuse and then check the wiring to the pump. oh well. not bad for $75 i must say.

Re: My New Z!!!
yeah, if anything you can spend a few dollars here and there replacing parts, seeing you only paid $75 for it.

For a $75 dollar original investment even if you had to replace the engine you would still come out a head on the deal.

Grow up chump, he wasn't insulting you so why insult him? Yeah he didn't make sense, but why bring up a previous post of his? It isn't relevant to anything in particular. Looks to me like you're just looking for ways to insult him, for no goddamned reason. I hate people like you. -Mike |

ok guys...calm down. quit hi-jacking my thread.
anyways, yeah i feel if worst comes to worse i will have to drop a new engine or tranny in it. and if that is the case then i still got one hell of a car for the very small investment.

little update....
well...i was getting no fuel sent to the engine from the fuel pump. so...then i just ran a battery charger to the fuel pump wiring harness and i got it to kick on but still no fuel is being pumped. so, now i am going to order a new fuel pump or call a junk yard and see if they want to pull one out of the fuel tank for me. my question for the z31 guys around here is...is there a fuel cut off switch or a security switch or something that would deactivate the power to the fuel pump???? if no one knows, it isnt a bid deal. i plan to just run a switch to the driver's seat. no biggie. hope you guys never have to pull the fuel pump out of your z's. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!!!! you have to drop the whole fuel tank. and it wouldn't be that abd if ever hose wasnt f***ing jammed on the connector. you have to be freaking superman to get those hoses off of there and break those bolts loose. oh well....its done now. thank goodness.

Re: My New Z!!!
I know I helped a guy swap a pump on a tt once and just like my civic there is an access panel in the back of the car thats above the tank ,,,,norm held on with phillips screws.....then you can get to the pump without dropping the tank.

i dont know about on the z32's (never researched it or messed with it) but that isnt the pump on the z31's. on the z31's that thing that is overhead and reachable from the hatch area is the fuel level sender unit. tells how much fuel is in the tank. the fuel pump is a little to the right of that and there is not a panel that you unscrew to get to it. this means you have to drop the whole damn fuel tank. wouldnt be hard to do if the hoses werent stuck like glue onto the metal piping.
