O/D not working
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 360 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I drove it this morning and found that it wouldn't kick into overdrive. I tried pushing the O/D off switch a few times, but had no luck. I was traveling at about 65 mph and the rpms were at almost 3000. The temperatures over the past few days have been below zero - I don't know if that would have anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The speedometer was still working. I just read another post where the same problem was experienced. I guess the dealer said that it was a common problem when the temperature gets around 5 below and no fix to the problem was given. Its been below zero here for the past four days. I have it parked in a heated garage and will try it again later. Hope it works.

Re: O/D not working
The owner's manual states that the transmission will not shift into overdrive if the vehicle is started when the ambient temp is -5F or lower.

After warming up, the O/D works again. I checked my owner's manual and found the same thing about the temperature. Thanks.
