Hahaha untill you get passed by the 300HP 1.5. Oh yes, it's a monster. I vote you build and boost a single-cam. Go with a D15B instead of a d16z6 as the 1.5 has a better r/s ratio.

Re: Help with low gas mileage

and with all the money it took to make that 1.5 300hp, I could build my b18 to over 600. Oh wait... Now I remember why my car's in the shop again...

Re: Help with low gas mileage

It actually wasn't that expensive. Used low comp. pistons and eagle rods and that's the only motor work done. Ebay turbo kit. The NepTune was a little expensive but worth every penny. Probably about $3500 all in all. 600HP does sound a little more fun though.

Re: Help with low gas mileage

It's a JDM D15B sohc vtec. They never had a D16Z6 in japan, so they got the D15B instead. R/s is rod to stroke ratio. Check this out if you have some time. For our honda motors, 1.75:1 is perfect. B16A's have a 1.74 which is damn good. D16Z6's have something like 1.52 which pretty much sucks. With the smaller displacement of the D15B, it has a better r/s ratio, somewhere in the 1.6x range so it revs a little faster and there is less stress on the rods.

Re: Help with low gas mileage

3500 into a B series motor gets you just over 425whp here in ATL. :P My next project is taking on the H2B kit.

Have fun with that. Cable shifters suck anyway.

Re: Help with low gas mileage

No, I mean H-series cable shift linkage, not clutches. But with that H2B you can have some real shift linkage.

Edit: Upon further review, you're crazy

Re: Help with low gas mileage

H2B allows you to put an H or F series motor easily into an EG/DC chassis, because it is an adapter plate that allows the motor to bolt up to a B series drivetrain.. which basically means you get the torque and horsepower of an H22A4 (2.2L DOHC VTEC out of a prelude) with the limited slip, positive traction, better gearing, and better clutch of a B series (limited slip is type R thingies only) transmission and drivetrain... it's trule the best of all things honda put into one big hodgepodge.

And yes, I am crazy, Matt. That's why I'm the Honda GODDESS

Re: Help with low gas mileage

But Her Royal Eminence and Grace GSR, why ever would you need an H2B kit?

Re: Help with low gas mileage

because I want faster than the GSR... and the GSR will be for sale probably next summer in order to get this project rolling. You know you want DOHC boosted goodness... and hey, if you're in ATL at Tech (UGH... GO DAWGS), then you can race me and the freakishly fast honda!
