Let's Start Counting How Many Times Weigert Trys To Sell His w8 On Ebay!

OK seriously. It is November 27th 2002 and I see Weigert's w8 for sale again on Ebay.

This marks AT LEAST the 6-8th time it has been on there in the last year!

Only once was there a bidding war. All the other times no one has bid on it.

He is so stupid, he keeps the min. bid waaay too high and his ego won't let him lower it.

LET'S START COUNTING!

We'll call this one # 6.

Hey I'll rip on him and his cars may flip over when you get near 200 and be totally unreliable, but I do think they are COOL!

What's with you dudes busting my chops?

That really isn't even the point of this thread!

At least the w8 is original and I do like how it looks - A LOT - the m12 is a kit car with a Lamborghini motor.

That's cool if you like the m12.

Maybe I am just a product of the 80's. I like the hard lines of the w8.

Here is a nice pic:

Is $98,500 a good price for a Vector? Who makes the engine & are replacement parts readily available?

Actually I believe the m12 is only one with a Lamborghini motor. The w8 has a aluminum block bi-turbo v8.

The w8 does 0-60 in the low fours, I think it is 4.2 secs.
The top speed was never verified. Weigert would throw out numbers like 240 mph, but that is commonly believed to be BS due to poor aerodynamics.

More likely it is closer to 180 mph. Above that and the front end starts to lift and the car could flip like a race boat!

A couple years into production they started putting ground effects on it to stablize it. I don't know what effect this really had.

$98,500 is not bad actually. Most go for around $100k. It is rare to see them for sale except for this pre-production model that Weigert has been trying to sell for over a year. The cheapest one sold for $60k in a used car lot in Japan. I saw a picture of that. I couldn't believe it. I don't think they knew what they had. Somebody got a helluva deal.

I don't think his is in the best shape of the ones out there. I don't know for sure, but I would check for all the parts.

Parts would be a big concern if I bought one. I hear the customer service ain't that great. And getting someone who has the knowledge to work on this exotic would be very expensive.

If I were rich, I would buy one anyway and drive it into the ground. Which probably wouldn't take that long as they are notoriously unreliable.
