I have just recently bought a 87 Conquest TSI and I am Having trouble getting it started. It turns over and has spark but cant get it running. I was thinking the fuel pump but I dont know. If any one knows what it could be I would like some feedback

If you are sure that you are getting spark all the way to plugs -- past the distributor...

1) Check engine compression (or leak-down test) to verify that valves are seating properly.

2) Disconnect negative terminal on coil. Remove Over the Valve Cover I/C pipe. Have someone attempt to start car. The fuel pump only runs when ignition switch is in START position (and when ECU receives tach signal). Verify that primary injector (the smaller black one) is spraying correctly. The secondary injector (the larger blue/green one) should only spray above 3K rpms.
