Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
thanks. I've got the urge to work on it a little. I hope to have some resin peices coming soon, a pair of turbo's an intercooler and some sparco/recaro type seats. Also note the "bulbs" in the headlights and parking lights

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
I must confess I haven't been checking this thread very often, due to the fact that musclecars aren't my cup of tea.
But when I see such a great model being built up, with such a great progress thread, it's a different story! Absolutely great modeling and scratchbuilding! Now that I ve checked this thread, I can only say; awesome! Let the updates coming! Oli |

The resin parts are from ralphloves69cars. He has the molds and has agreed to cast me some copies. the bulbs are simply dots of microscale liquid mask

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
How about a REAL update??
After some work, and some resin casting, we now have an ALMOST complete intake manifold. I need to source some small button head screws for the top of the manifold (anyone know where to get some? preferably just the heads). I've also got a pair of complete rotors for the front. I'm going to try and source some rotors and calipers from the 1/12th Skyline kit for the rear, so as to not have to completely scratch another set of rotors and calipers. The rotors also are in paint. As is the engine block and heads, as well as a set of 4 wheel centers.....finally. All were painted with model masters metalizers. I had some trouble with my airbrush....seems I have a hole in my airline which I found after I was done spraying, and thought it was a problem with the brush. But I am happy with the result. I am debating on whether to hit the wheel centers with some clear just to make them pop, and give them the powder coated look. (got that tip from Clay Kemp, he used it on his chopper build). And yes, I am STILL waiting on the sleeves. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the engine assembled. I need to add some bolt heads to the valley cover, paint those, and then I can assemble the heads and intake. Then it will be time to get started on the brake calipers. I am leaning toward a one peice BAER unit. Here are the pics, comments and criticisms please!

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
thanks for the comments guys. Keep them rolling.
Completion date.....If I get my sleeves in the next month or so, I'm going to shoot for the Lone Star NNL in November. If not, then Definately by the Shootout in March. I am quickly approaching the one year anniversary of starting this project.

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
How about updates two days in a row!!! Got the heads mounted, along with some head gaskets. I've spent some time on the intake manifold as well. It now has injectors, wiring and fuel rails. My batteries died before I got a mock up with the intake on the engine, So I'll update again later tonight!

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?
Final update for the night, and probably the next few days. Got a mock up shot with the intake on the block. Also a poor photo of the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) The adjuster is on top, the connectors on both sides will go to the fuel rails, and the one on the bottom will be for the main fuel line. here is how the plumbing will go. The fuel rails will be plumbed with incoming fuel and return lines to the tank. The intake will be plumbed with a line to the FPR making it boost dependent, a line for a pressure guage, and a line going to the waste gates. I think I'm going to have to restock my plastic round and hex rod, picking up some different sizes that what I have on hand. Up next I will begin the work on the brake calipers for the front brakes....should be fun....has anyone noticed the weld seams on the intake yet?
