CRX vs. Mustang 5.0

Who you think will win? we got some serious money on this, ive got a hundred bucks riding on this race. a buddy of mine has a 88 5.0 LX. He's got right around 450hp. He has a Vortec Supercharger, 3:73's, an X 303 cam, and all the bolt ons there are. Ive got a CRX, ive got right about 290-300 hp. my car weighs only 1,800lbs. Ive got a GSR engine, a turbonetics T3/T4 turbo, cams, pulleys, gears, aem intake, fuel management system, and im waiting for the venom nitrous set up. Let me know what you think. we both run mid to high 11's.

His car is set really close to mine. I will all depend on who slips at the line, or is late on a shift. You said both run mid to high elevens, so it should be very close.

To run 11's your guys are using slicks?

Goodluck.

Question

Did you race yet? Who won?

The Mustang must have won otherwise he'd be back here bragging about beating a modded Mustang.

I gotta go with the 5.0...and maby the crx started taking off, (for how light it is) and in mid air the wing fell off and he crashed? :hehehe:

I would put my money on the Mustang, one because its a rearwheel drive V8, and two because CRX dude hasnt gotten back to us on the results.

i'm thinking the ricer's spoiler caused him to take off and flow into the night sky

what's up with that?

that's another thing i wonder about. most of these ricers are front wheel drive. the spoiler on the back is used to weight down the rear of the car at high speeds to keep the rear tires in contact with the ground. why would anyone want to do that on a front drive? shouldn't the spoiler be on the hood. yeah, it'll hinder the view somewhat....am i missing something here?

I think in a 0-100, the mustang might win. After that, I think the CRX, unless he runs out of gears quick.
