Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
Recieved my shipping confirmation this morning - Aaaarrrggghhhh ---- the wait!!!!!!
Shipping to the UK is a pretty horrendous £60, but it still makes the kit around £150 cheaper than anywhere over here. Roy. |

Stunning kit, I am thinking about buying one but it´s quite expensive. Recommended price here in Czech Republic is same as an average sallary of manually working man, holy shit!
But for enthusiast is this a MUST HAVE kit :-) |

True, really a must have.
And what I would buy immediately, too, would be a 1:12 Ferrari 288 GTO. Eh, Tamiya? *hint* *hint* |

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
When I first heard about this kit, I thought "naaah.. No need for it".. Then for some reason I started looking at the Semi-assembled version.. and I thought "wow.. it´s quite a cool car.."
I started building the 1/12 Porsche 934 Jägermeister and I fell in love with this scale.. it´s fun to work with.. and NOW.. looking at this thread.. looking at the details, the MASSIVE manual, all the parts and comparing it to the 1/24.. Now I feel that.. HOLY COW.. I NEED THIS KIT !! The first thing that will happen when I get my sallary from work will be to buy it and then live like a homeless.. ;O Thanks for the thread... Best regards, Rickard |

US$288.97+26.54 (registered surface) = US$315.91 US$288.97+48.72 (speed post) = US$337.69 I've never bought from them, so I don't know whether it's the actual total cost or not. If the kit becomes available at Hobby Lobby or Michael's, it can be as low as $305 w/50% off coupon + tax, or $366 w/40% off coupon + tax. |

It's up to the individual to decide if $350 odd dollars is a good price. For me, I'll probably take a hundred or so hours hours to build it, so at $3.50 ($4 if you include s paint and other supplies) per hour, It's cheap fun! |

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
It would also be nice if Tamiya did this for the rest of the 'semi-assembled', the GTO and the F50 would be nice, but I think they also did a Carrera GT which would be special in 1/12. Tamiya seems to be leaning towards the super-kits. They did the a super-new version of the Yamato and that price sky rocketed to the $600ish. Same questions, "is it worth it" and in that case its 'oh yeah'. They seem to be testing the waters, so lets hope it sells out and they decide to do more. A Ferrari California with working top? Who knows

If you get hit by customs, there'll be a duty to be paid too. Not £150 mind. I think it's 20-30%, can't really remember what it is.

Like most modellers here I have LOADS of projects already on the go so I definitely shouldn't start another one just yet............ But I couldn't help myself and have made a start on it anyway.... Mostly just smoothing and prepping parts for CF treatment so far and adding missing fastener details.... dash, seat, engine etc. I won't bore with too many more pics until I have something worthwhile to show though. Regards, Dan

My kit is on the way.....
I can see the tiny etched parts you've fitted, but what do you mean by 'missing fasteners' and if they aren't included, where are you getting the bits from? I want my Enzo to be SUPER detailed, and I intend going way overboard on details. Roy. |
