What about some Hifonics amps...are there a set of those or some other brand of single amp that would work as well as the ED's would.....and how exactly significant would the difference be between the nine.2's and the DE-3000? would the subs pushed by the 3000 completely blow the nine's out of the water?

chances are the nine.2's would be able to push the subs to full excursion if they're sealed, if so then there will be no max spl difference between those 2 amp setups, but the DE would have a lot more headroom and at listening volume it would be drawing around 1/3 as much current as the nine.2s.

well it means your lights will dim less, your voltage will drop less, and there will be a lower chance that you will run the battery dead
