cool circuitry gadget
I wasnt sure if i should put this here or in the n2o thread but here goes anyways. If u are buying an aftermarket steering wheel with the two buttons on it here is a cool setup u can use:
Hook up the two momentary buttons to a DPDT switch in the dash then connect the horn to two of the terminals and then two other accesories to the other two(my choice was n2o, and n2o purge). what this allows u to do is change the mode of ur steeringwheel from normal to n2o setup, with the switch up both buttons honk the horn, with the switch down the left one uses the nitrous while the right one activates the purge solenoid. I furthered the coolness by ordering a DPDT key switch so that i can lock which mode it is in from those crazy valet drivers or friends. Its a sweet setup that gives u normal street performance, with the ease of steering wheel activation at the track. Let me know what u think -spot |

sounds like a pretty sweet idea man! whereabouts do you locate the dpdt switch? i bet if you just used a spdt switch that you could hook it up to your stock horn wire, and use it for spray on the other side... that'd look pretty funny eh... some guy hits the horn to spray

sry bout not explaining the vocab, Double pull double throw means there are two input wires and four output wires, it switches from the power going from the first two outputs to the second two out puts, essentially anyways. I dont think i used relay in my post so that dont matter, as for a key switch thats self explainitory, i have a wire diagram drawn up if anyone wants it ill email it, since its bmp it wont let me upload it.
Ya that would be a pretty sick idea, i just think having purge controlls also on there would be sweet, but if ur running a stock wheel then ya that would be crazy funny as for the location of a DPDT switch ur local radio shack has a variety but if ur goin key switch u gotta look on google i know i have found a supplier but i lost the url i will look though. any more questions? |
