1998 Suburban turn signal/flasher problem - HELP!
<LI class=ToolbarItem aId="deleteMessage">Delete
.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;}I dropped my 1998 Suburban at a shop to get the air fixed. He is a certified auto tech. He called me and said the air is done, come pick up the car and leave a check under the door. When I picked up the truck and drove it away, electrically, it was all messed up. When you turn on either of the turn signals, it makes the 4 way flashers come on and all the dash backlights flash on and off. When you do the same thing with the headlights on, nothing happens but you hear a one time single buzz sound from behind the dash. No flashers, and no turn signals at all, just a quick buzz and then silence. He said all he did was disconnect the battery. The truck was perfect when I dropped it off. Any thoughts? I unplugged the battery as he did and I also tried the factory keyless remote on and off several times. Nothing helped. |

Re: 1998 Suburban turn signal/flasher problem - HELP!
Sorry about that. He replaced the upper hoses to and from the air compressor. He vacuumed the old refrig. out pressure tested it and then filled it back up. He said all he did was disconnect the battery. The truck runs fine, all the electronics work (stereo, air, head lights, brakes, power locaks and windows, etc) but when you turn on the turn signal, the 4 way flashers come on and the dash lights (behind stereo, speedo, tach) flash in rhythem with the flashers. It makes no sense.

I'll check that out! He did put a line through the front cross member to the cooler up front, which by chance is next to the headlight assembly.... Good thinking!
