Struts and shocks
How hard is it to change the struts on these vans?

Re: Struts and shocks
I've replaced the struts on my Windstar.
It's a decent DIY-able job for someone with reasonable mechanical experience. I shared what I learned in this old thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=746337 Note that the link to the photos in the original post is now dead (Webshots stopped hosting personal photos), but I've edited the original post, and added it to the end of the thread.

Re: Struts and shocks
I just posted in another thread my recommendation to replace the whole strut/spring assembly up front as well as the sway bar to strut links.
You have to remove the whole strut assembly to do the job......and I'm sure that no one wants to go to all the extra work to replace only the strut.....just to find out that the upper mount bearing is bad and you have to go through all that work again. I had the job done for me. Rear shocks are easy as long as the bolts come free.
