Axle removal

ive been getting some wierd sounds upon acceleration in my SI. so i took it apart thinking it could be a wheel bearing but my CV boot is ripped and there is grease all over. wheel bearing seems to be fine. my question is how do i remove axle from tranny to replace? also, do i need to drain tranny fluid before removing axle from differental (stupid question i know)?

thnks

Re: Axle removal

no just pull all the long bolts to like the tire rod and stuff so the tire is free hanging and yank the axle or use a fork which is best...but memer first thing you gotta do is get a 32mm axle nut to remove it...just done this a month ago to remove engine from a busted rod bearing

Re: Axle removal

make sure you drain the tran first ,or it'll be messy bro, remove the tire ,lower control are fork, castle nut 1-1/4 is what i use or 32mm . Use a big screw driver to pop the axel out of the tran and pull it out.
