How did you do the greasy 5th wheel?

Just watched "delitto sul autostrada" few days ago. There´s a nice old Fiat 8-wheeler in the opening scene. - Huge balloon tyres!

Very nice looking truck. You will have to make the 1950's-1960's FIAT Ferrari transporter someday. I think back then Ferrari kept them almost as dirty!!

@ Julian: thanks for compliments. The grease is oil paint with glossy (oil) varnish mixed on it. You can add also some pigments to make the moisture even more thick. Is fun to make

@ Tom : thank you Tom. Unfortunately this cabin I cast is the bigger series of those trucks of the 60s. They all look similar, but the size was different. Fiat transporter Bartoletti was based on the 642. If you check the thread we talked about this.
This one I made is suitable only for heavy transports or cave works (the dumpers). Of course at the beginning of my scratch I didn't think of it, but can't exclude in the future to build also the smaller. The BIG problem is to find technical drawings, that also for this 682 were a mess (had to buy at nearly 70 dollars the original service book on eBay...)
If you find something is always well appreciated indeed

I never start ANY model of this kind if I don't have something serious about measures in my hands.

Something exactly as in Peterbilt family from the ones of the 50s to 70s ones...

HA...so happy I made you curious my Friend !

For now I just find an easy wooden base to complete the model, but no space right now for that animals I already have and wanted to place around.

There is now indeed 2 of that terrible stones stucked between the rear twin tyres so dangerous when we follow old trucks and always pointed on our windshields... , and some little more leafs on the tarmac... (I dont add pics now cause they dont add too much to this gallery build)

I am sure that I saw this kind of Fiat trucks very often on holidays in Italy in the sixties.

BTW in the (IMO) best truck modeling forum an Italian modeler showed a very nice model of a similar 1:1 Fiat truck

I think Matteo model is in smaller scale than 24th. Btw I just sold him one of my resin copies and I hope he can make a nice one in size, being so skilled modeller
