Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 With SMS Super Detail Set
I started this one a while back and haven't worked on it in a while. I tried to start a WIP before but the pictures were all messed up, so hopefully it works this time around
I was lucky enough to pick up the Scale Motorsport Super Detail set for this kit off a member on this site a while back. I am using some other stuff as well, including RB Motion coilovers, Top Studio weld lines and the Hobby Desing McLaren F1 GTR Brake Kit, as both cars share the same brake setup. Cup holder with weld lines Interior parts Mock Up Glued in place Seat Surgery |

Hobby Design Fire Systems
PE computers with resin electrical connectors Hobby Design F1 GTR Brake Kit. Same brakes used on the GT1. They are much larger than the kit brakes, but still fit inside the wheels, and they look way too cool not to use Nice detail, but not enough Painted and burnished |

Re: Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 With SMS Super Detail Set
I will display this on the jacks with the wheels off. I wanted to build in the jacks and not just set the car on pieces of tube.
Final Position Positioning shock reservoirs cut up kit parts Testing different ideas for conduit/piping finally, some exhaust upgrades, with 1/12 motorcycle springs to replace the molded in kit part. Kit part on bottom. Spun in Dremel to polish Spring might be a tad big, but should work fine. |

Wow! Lots of nice detailed stuff!
Weld seams are kinda cool, I have not seen this before. Brakes look fantastic, wonderful job on those. Shaping up like a really awesome build.

I would be proud of being able to achieve your level of detail on a 1/12 kit, fantastic stuff!

Re: Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 With SMS Super Detail Set
Thanks guys. I really started getting interested in models after finding the BMC forum back in the day and started following Alex and some other guys on there, then found this forum. Sad to see a lot of guys disappear over the years, but life happens. I hope I can continue to contribute

Pretty awesome details all around!
Will you increase the stance when the car is displayed on permanent jacks?
