Re: Which concept vehicle do you wish came into production, but didn't.

The GT is no good mr. man of the girls. The 90 is way better, and the 40 looks like shit, and it can't touch cars with half it's price.

I have to say I agree with the GT90 lovers! I could not believe it when Ford decided to go with the original GT40 as a production item. I have a 1:18 Maisto model of the 90 and someday I am going to get enough money to have it scanned and blown up so someone can make a mold and fiberglass it. Hopefully someone will beat me to it.

Re: Which concept vehicle do you wish came into production, but didn't.

I kinda liked the way the GT90 looked.

OT: I just wish the (Honda) HSC would go into production with inpresive numbers. HSC is said to replace the NSX. I just dont want to see such a good looking car not go into production just like the GT90 did.

none of those cars mater( except the mclaren F1) because they are probably non runing models and the figures u guys have are estimates. there are only 4 cars that get close to the mclaren, Enzo ferrari, Porsche GT, pagani zonda and konings egg CC.

Gt90

GT90 was cool, sorry but I love the GT40 better (doesn't mean I don't like the GT90 I do) and I would've loved to have seen the 49 make production. The Cien would be nice if they made it look better, as far as the Cad. V16 concept car that thing was a monstrosity. The SVT Tbird with supercharger would've been nice. The retro continental with suicide doors was a disappointment, because it should be a boat like the original. Ford made 2 mid engine sports cars in the 60's they never made, one called the Mach III but they scraped it and made the Pantera with DeTomaso. The second was small with a mid engine V4 (1/2 a 289) and called I believe the Mustang II but they scraped that and used the name in the 70's for the Pinto based stang. They used the V4 in England in the Anglia I think and sold some to Saab for use in the Sonnet.
AMC had a mid engine beauty in the 60's called the AMX 2 but it never made production, and the 71 AMX (13 where made) but it was decided to just make the AMX and option on the Javelin instead. Ford also had a front engine rear drive roadster design for Lincoln in the late 80's called the Vignale I think, I would've loved to have seen that one made. Not sure I'd like to see it but what about the Corvette mid engine rotary cars chevy was showing in the 70's and saying it was the next Vette?

yea but the mclaren is NA and its a great racign engine developed by bmw that revs to like 8k

on the other hand, even with 4 turbos and a v12 the chrysler barely makes 850hp, some turbo supras make over 850 hp, and im pretty sure if bmw wanted to, they could push more power out of it

God yes the XK180 needed to have been produced. Jaguar intended for it to compete with the Boxster, at the Boxster's price point, with the Jaguar AJ-V8, a Getrag manual trans, and a body that designer Ian Callum called "My finest work ever."

And this coming from the man who has designed the Aston Martin DB7, Jaguar XK8, and Aston Martin Vanquish.

Some others I miss........

Chrysler Portofino; a super sedan bred from the days when Chrysler owned Lamborghini.

Alfa Romeo Brera; ungodly beautiful coupe

BMW Z07; the superb handling, righteously quick coupe/roadster we were supposed to get instead of the weak-kneed Z8.

Dodge Razor; the tiny FR coupe that carried the SRT-4 turbo engine. With the Solstice on its way, Dodge needs this car BAD!

Ford GT90, but supposedly it was terrible. That was what Jeremy Clarkson had mentioned when he was tesing the new Ford GT.

btw the front of that Jaguar XK-180 looks exactly like that of the Aston Martin DB7...Don't you think so?

Well, like I said, the DB7 and the F-type/XK180 shared a designer - coupe maestro Ian Callum.

Re: Which concept vehicle do you wish came into production, but didn't.

i am not wishing a concept would come into production, rather for a car about to come into production to be changed. the pontiac solstice. everything is great about it. but why put a 4 cylinder in there. i was hopping more along the lines of a v-8 (i.e. firebird replacement). but oh well, they caught onto the bandwagon i guess.

The Solstice is a Miata hunter, and a pretty darn good one at that. Wish they'd decided to produce the coupe along with the roadster.

I'm sure someone (Jon Moss) will figure out how to stick a V8 into the Kappa platform. Although, honestly, I think it'd spoil the idea of the car a little. Honestly, though, the thought occurs to me to slip the 3800 Series II Supercharged OHV V6 into the Kappa cars and have a bit of fun.
