JC Whitney anyone? Need some advice.

I ordered some items from JC Whitney many years ago and never had any problems. What I was wondering is if anyone has any recent experience with them. I've been quoted about $1300(new part price) $1180(rebuild)from two different dealers for a steering rack for my 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander. My garage told me you have to get one through the dealer. That seems outrageous. I see JC Whitney has one listed for $231. What do you guys think? It is such a huge difference in price. I don't want to go ahead and get it and find out it isn't going to work out etc... Any advice? The vehicle has high miles(191K), it has its minor issues, but overall the car is pretty solid and I'd hate to have to end up junking the thing over a steering rack.

A quick google search for "2005 mitsubishi outlander steering rack' comes up with a few in the same price range as JCW... I've found that when ordering parts from them that are specific (like a steering rack) it's best to place the order to them over the phone. So that they can verify fitment when you order it.
