Re: Gunze Hi-Tech BMW R69
I love the looks of this bike (and model)!
I guess it's very joyful to build such a model. |

Re: Gunze Hi-Tech BMW R69
It is actually very frustrating. The model design is very poor, and I'm having really hard time putting it together. Nothing fits, not a single partfits as it should. Instructions are vague at best, and I had to fabricate few parts from scratch just to continue building. I would not recommend this kit to anyone :-) There.

Re: Gunze Hi-Tech BMW R69
I really like that bike model, I think is worth It the extra work, because is a very unique bike, I would like to build one of those myself because my father had one in the 70's, Ill try to find some pictures of it.
Keep the grat job!

Re: Gunze Hi-Tech BMW R69
All right, time for another update on this one guys.
I have done this few months ago actually, only now realized that I have never posted pictures.... Bike is still not quite done, but there are only few minor things left. Real bike that I'm making a replica of has Denfeld seats, so I had to scratchbuild the seats. Used Tamiya Epoxy putty to create a raw shape, then carefully shaped and sanded then to make them look like the ones on the pic. They are not 100% match, but it was hard to make them without proper dimensions. Then the seats were primed, masked, and sprayed with Rust-Oleum textured paint to replicate the texture of the real deal: Painted seats. Still need a coat of flat clear on them, and few other things, but I think they look rather close.

Re: Gunze Hi-Tech BMW R69
oooh, they look super! Very nice work, a Denfeld script and we'd be looking at an 100 % match.
