diesels don't make a great deal of horsepower because they don't rev high. you might not think that's a lot of power but they're probably pushing over 2,500lb/ft of torque. diesels are better for torque which is why they're used for haulage and so on. a petrol/gas engine isn't suitable for this kind of application.

i'd rather have one of these. 9000kw translates to an monumental 12,604 horsepower. that's from a 48 degree V20 diesel engine. going to play the lottery... EDIT - with that link, click the 8000 series engine at the bottom.

1450 IS alot and it takes alot to get that out of most engines that can fit in most CARS.
Beyond that the engine probably makes peak torque in the 1000-2000 RPM rang...so it probably has 4,000 lb/ft of torque |

Yeah. A BB Chevy with completely new internals and bolt-ons. Not really a Chevy anymore. More like a Donovan 417.
