Re: amsoil?

Amsoil is - in my opinion - probably the best filter you can buy!! Don't hesitate to use Amsoil!

I use K&N air filter and am happy with it. Never tried using Amsoil. The stock air filters stop too much air. Change it out first chance you get with a higher performing one.

Re: amsoil?

K&N filters have some problems - particularly with quality of the filter media.

Thumbs up

Have Used Amsoil In 2002 Doublecab Since New. I Use The 7500 Syn. Oil And Have Used The Amsoil Air Filter, But Picked Up A Trd Filter On Ebay, So I'm Using It With The Deckplate Mod. Dealership Will Change To Syn. Oil At First Oil Change. Most New Vehicles Need No Breakin Prior To Using Syn. Vetts Come With Syn. Enjoy !

Re: amsoil?

Either the TRD filter or the AMSOIL filter will give you a small increase in power. Probably very little difference in mileage. At least I have not noticed any difference in mileage with the TRD (A&E) filter which is similar in quality to the AMSOIL filter.

The main advantages to these high quality filters is their filter efficiency and thier lifetime. Without cleaning, they last twice as long as a non-oiled paper element. For little money, you can clean and re-oil these filters to keep them fresh and breathing well.

Lightbulb

I'm Told That Trd Air Filters Are Made By K&n. Advantage Is Warranty Cannot Be Questioned By Dealer. I Put A Short Pipe K&n On My Sons' '03 Corolla And The Dealership Noted In The Computer That The Customer Had Installed An Inadequate Air Filtration System......the Deckplate Mod. Allows More Air To Be Avail. To The Intake. The Normal Intake Is In The Inner Fender Well And Is Very Small In Diameter. The Deckplate Can Be Closed In Seconds If Driving Off-road In Deep Water. No Need To Close It Off In Rain Or Deep Puddles On The Road. I'm In Rainy Fla And Have Never Had A Problem. More Power Or Mpg? Deckplate & Trd Filter Have To Add A Little Of Both....but Most Will Be In Your Mind When You Hear The Sound Diff. Good Luck !

Re: amsoil?

TRD talks down on K&N products - Does not work with them.

A&E makes the TRD filter. Check it out. They are identical. Also, TRD has stated this.

Re: amsoil?

I may be wrong about that, but I have heard this from two different sources.
