Brake light on dash is out
As simple as this seems, the Brake indicator light on the dash of my 2000 Ford Excursion has burned out. Does anyone know if it is easily accessable to replace the bulb? Can you give me a general idea of the precise location of it? I bought the vehicle about a year ago the light went out shortly after so I am really not sure were on the dash it was. Now I need to go to inspection and would hate to fail for something this minor. Thanks

Re: Brake light on dash is out
The brake light on your vehicle comes on when the brake fluid in the master cyhinder is low or when the parking brake is set. Because it is never on more than a few seconds on startup it should not be burned out. I would check the switch on the parking brake and check the fuse to see if it is good. I'm guessing it won't come on with the parking brake set. Otherwise it should stay off unless the flulid in the master is low. This bulb comes on so infrequently I'd hesitate to think the bulb has burned out. Possible though. Possible.
