New guy from Colorado

Hello All!
I'm a newbie from Fort Collins, Colorado. I actually learned of this forum from searching the internet for tips on reprogramming keyless entry remotes. I still have not found the information I seek, so maybe this forum will help.
I pulled a boneheaded stunt and lost the ONLY remote for my '98 Dodge Ram 1500. Very sad about it, because the dealership wants a fortune to replace it. Any hints from you guys would be appreciated, as I would like to purchase a replacement on Ebay and program it myself, if I can.

I truly enjoy talking and reading about cars. My first love was a 1955 Chevy Bel-Air, which was a very FUN car. Old cars tend to be my favorites, so I must rely on the expertise of fellows (such as found in these forums) to help with solving problems on my newer vehicles.
My other hobbies are woodworking and restoring old radios...so I'm a hands-on sort of guy.
