Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?

Alright. There was some tiger striping in the paint so I decided to repaint this beast. It is now sitting in a white base coat. Here are the paint choices I'm leaning towards.

Solid Color:

Sunset Orange pearl
Indigo

Stripes:

White w/ black or gunmetal hockey sticks
Black w/ gunmetal hockey sticks

I would really like some input on what you guys think so chime in and let me know

I personally like Indigo, but sunset orange would look great too. Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by hockey sticks, so I didnt want to go any further with my choices until I could picture it better.

Check out the rendering, the stripes are hockey sticks. Sunset orange is what it was originally painted. Not sure which page the paint is on in the thread.

pearl orange with gunmetal pearl hockey sticks, or even a gunmetal stripe that covers the ass end.

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?

Here is how its being done. the ring is two peices of styrene laminated together that I cut with a circle cutter. the spokes: I created one spoke to my specs, then I poured a one piece mold. I had trouble with the initial pour because the resin wasn't able to flow to the lower part of the mold. So I used some southern enginuity and opened up the mold from the bottom into the area where the spoke forks to allow the resin to flow down. Thank goodness this worked

The camaro is still in production. The mustang kits are not. You've pretty well got to score one on ebay. I picked up a basket case, that is the base for the Mustang I'm building that I posted in the street forum. I paid 50 bucks and it was a wreck. for a sealed one expect to pay around $100

Seems like the Bel Air may still be in production. Not sure about the corvette though.

My LHS has a 1/12 57 chevy and a 1/8 corvette sting ray. I believe the '57 is a new reissue and shouldn't be too hard to find. I just picked up a NIB '67 Corvette on evil bay for $42 shipped. There were a few more out there when I saw this one. I'm just amazed at how BIG these suckers are!!!

Re: Pro Touring Camaro of a different ......size?

The wheel is pretty well roughed out. I think I might find someone willing to put it on a lathe and true it up and clean up the center for me, also drill the holes for the bolts that would "hold" it to the outer hoop.
