Re: Hasegawa 1/24 BMW 2002tii
I've been working on this kit recently and part of that has been studying how the parts are laid out on the trees, and noticing enough clues that the Turbo had to be an integral part of the plan all along. The door panel detail (as weak as it is...) are "correct" for a later model 2002 than the intial '71 tii. The extra rear bumper, the extra chrome headlight buckets (I surmised there would be a black molded grille for Turbo), the little divots for the side trim that are located where Turbo flares go.
Looking at the body and the clear rectangular taillights, I'd say that the rectangular rear lights will be a multi-piece overlay over the existing body. A chrome plated base, separate taillights, and a body-color insert in the middle. I guess I'll know soon enough. Anyway, nice to see Hasegawa making good use of the 2002 tooling.
