Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Next update on Capri.
The dashboard and parts of the cage are made. The cage only made a few problems in terms of impressions. After a night of thinking about it, I found the negative form with which I can take it. I'm just going to make the two sides in resin, you can just make crossbars out of round tubes. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
So the kit is now ready.
I created all the silicone molds and added a few small parts that weren't planned yet. But was so "in the flow" that something was added. Here is an overview of all parts included in the kit: The roll cage consists of only two side parts, the cross braces can be easily added by the inclined buyer himself from plastic tubes. I made a few small parts for the trunk, but to fill it properly you have to scratch a few parts yourself. Then there were pedals and I "bent" two coolers in front of the rear wheels. I also made an exhaust. Unfortunately, the dashboard was not quite as hoped. I took the original ferrules and it looked really good. Unfortunately, these sleeves are so thin that they cannot be molded properly. Too bad! Either drill holes or install them with ferrules. That's it for now. Now I have to see if everything fits so far. Oh yes, there should also be a motor kit with gearbox, but I'm honest, I have already announced this with other buildings and did not pull through in the end. After such a long construction period, you will be happy to have everything ready at some point and the motivation to make more shapes has dropped significantly. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Small update.
The capri was stripped of his hoods and a door. It was pretty easy. The Würth Decals with printed discs are already there. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
My model-making mojo is back and I continued building on the Capri right away.
The door has found its fastening. I built the cage from the resin sides together with aluminum pipes. I worked the rims from the back so far that you can see through the grille. The vehicle height has now been determined. Now I go to the subtleties like closing small holes before I start installing the motor-gearbox dummy. I hope that the updates will follow a little faster because I now have the decals for the white Würth, the black D&W and the Liqui Moly Capri here. So I have to build the Capri 3 times. best regards Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Go on.
The Capri was primed so far and now also filled with nitro filler. There were very few holes in the body. Now it's time to fine-sand and then prime with white. Will definitely be the Würth version by Klaus Ludwig. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Update:
The Capri has now been primed in white, the later base color. Grind again and then comes the next layer which can hopefully remain the last. Besides that, I started this vehicle. First of all, the rough unevenness was removed with a 2k spatula and then spray spatula was applied. Much remains to be done here. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Thanks AJ!
Update Capri: I painted the front spoiler and the doors with the airbrush. With the spoiler, the decals wouldn't have worked. Let's see how it works with the black on the fender. Maybe I have to do some paint afterwards. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Amazing work. As your other works, it's really interesting to know and see how the kit is created from zero, with all the problems you have solved during the process, explaining also for what this is included and for what not. Thanks for sharing, and of course for create this rare kits.

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Nice work CS.
I can see u put a lot of time to get to this result. I made an open version of this insane car and what i'm missing on your model is an opening vent in the bottom of the rear windowframe, because there is an oil cooler underneath it in the booth, on the left side of the fuel tank. Here's a picture of my model showing what i mean. Keep up the good work

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Thanks for your comments.
I know there was some versions of the car with the airintake for the oilcooler. But there are also some versions who dont got that. They changed the car from race to race. So i deceieded to give up to create the 100% perfect copy of that car.Not enough good period pictures and too much of restored cars. And at the end when the cars is finished and in the cabinet nobody sees what is missing or not. Live is too short to get all details right. Most of the decals have now been applied. A few are still missing or need to be changed. But come this week and then there will be clear varnish. I still have to dab a little black by hand around the rear window and on the fenders. The decals were too small. And if you look closely at the prototype photos, you will discover different stickers and designs on each vehicle. I have now decided on an original car from the Nürburgring race. greetings Christian |

Re: Zakspeed Turbo Capri 1/12 Scratch
Decals have now all been applied. Now touch up with the touch-up pen and then apply clear coats the next weekend.
First construction site completed. regards Christian |
