Nick's EF Sedan Build (her name is Suki from The Last Airbender))
Started a new sedan build this last January (2019). Picked up a dark blue 91 LX Sedan from my cousin for $100, the water pump seized on him and he never got around to fixing it. Thing was bone bone stock. It has some rust, but other than that the body is pretty clean, no major dents.
I didn't like the auto, so I did a manual swap and put a LX trans, converted to mpfi and obd1 all at the same time. Picked up a moates ostrich and data logger too so I can tune it. Got all that running and found a sohc ZC cam at the JY and threw that in as well. That's pretty much how she's sat minus lowering it on some generic coilovers for the last year. Found a friend that didn't want his built b16 anymore, basically doesn't have the time/money to finish the turbo install, etc etc. Wanted to go back to a stock engine for better gas mileage and not put the built b16 to waste. We basically traded straight across with me doing the swaps. (yeah good deal, I know). So now I'm finishing up the b16 swap in my sedan right now. Here are the specs of the new engine: B16A Arias pistons Eagle Rods 98-99 GSR Head Buddy Club P1 valves, springs/retainers/cam gears B16A cams Skunk2 GSR intake manifold Skunk2 70mm throttle body Cable LS transmission (I wanted better cruising gears) Innovative B series EF mounts Skunk2 half core b series EF radiator Deatchwerks 800cc injectors Tein Flex Z (EG) Coilovers Generic Black Rear LCA PCI Front Upper Camber Energy Suspension rear trailing arm bushings XXR 531 16x8 +20 Wheels Other stuff I've installed: AEM Series X Wideband AEM Series X Oil Pressure Moates Ostrich / Datalogger Energy suspension front lower control arm, upper control arm, swap bar bushings NaytonTech Auto to Manual shifter cover Wink Mirror Just ordered / waiting to be installed: AEM 340LPH Fuel Pump The turbo isn't going on at this time - still have some more things to get and save up for. Will be getting a custom turbo manifold made to support a/c. Here is a sneak peek of the engine

Yep, Suki is going to be more on the side of a luxury build. Nice suspension, lots of sound deadening, turbo for power, quiet exhaust, a/c, cup holders, overhead console, nice entertainment center. I car I can travel in. My other sedan (Sokka) is hopefully going to be turned in a truck.

I've never been the clean build kind of person, not on these cars. That doesn't mean I don't admire a clean build. Now I do completely get having a nicer luxury car available.

I'm not looking for perfect. I'm looking for the amenities - a/c, cup holders, nice gauges, some power, low road noise, quiet exhaust, nice stereo possibly with video screens. I'll probably end up painting it myself, so it'll be nice, but not show car by any means.

Got the header modified to fit my exhaust and test fitted. Time to finish the swap and get her back on the road. Just have to finish bolting the header on, a couple intake nuts, traction bar, bleed brakes, fuel pump (aem 340lph), hook the radiator hoses up and put a few other things back together. Hoping to get it all done this weekend.

I'm hoping to do a little work to mine this weekend. Mostly get the Battery Tender installed and maybe start eyeballing a spot for the tach, or removing interior panels to see what's needed to swap the seat belts out. I've got to get some shielding gas for the welder before I really start that project.

Re: Nick's EF Sedan Build (her name is Suki from The Last Airbender))
Got the car home last night. Hit a snag sunday. I was planning on swapping the steering rack to a manual rack, so I dropped the rack in preparation. Dropped the whole rear subframe with suspension and brakes too. With the brakes disconnected for a month my master cylinder decided to take a crap and not bleed once I put everything back together so had to track down a new master cylinder. She's running good though, still have to tune the idle. With the lightweight flywheel the idle drops too fast for the ecu/IACV to catch itself with the fuel map it has and it just dies, so I'll be fiddling with that and also why vtec doesn't seem to be engaging. I'll get more pictures too.

Getting the tune dialed in. On revision 8 today. Getting it more driveable up to 4-5k range right now. No point in tuning higher until I can get vtec to engage. Also, I think the oil pump is going out (got a new one on the way). Once the oil heats up and thins out I'm getting below 5psi of oil pressure when under 1k rpm (basically idle). Everywhere else is fine. I'm guessing an oil pump and guessing it's bleeding off just enough oil pressure at idle to make a different. Cold starts are seeing 100+, and I'm over at 10+ psi per every 1k rpm. New pump should be here Friday and I'll be installing it saturday or sunday hopefully.

New pump is in, oil pressure isn't dropped below 20psi at normal idle after driving which is way better than it was before. Also upped my oil from 5w30 to 0w40. Now back to the tune.

Glad you got the oil pressure figured out. I'm still waiting on parts to finish up my battery box. Just waiting on connectors, then need some raw materials for a tie down and bolt down, and maybe some gas for the welder.

Just ordered a set of Tein Flex Z coilovers for my sedan, rear trailing arm bushings, front control arm bushings and some PCI front upper camber arms. Will be posting up some pictures when they arrive. I'm super excited.

Yep, still waiting on the coilovers and pci front camber. Shipments are backordered - hoping next week though. Got an alarm installed and working on bypassing the ignition key all together. Installed a trunk pop mechanism so I don't have to use the key there either - so nice - one of my favorite features on the car now next to the cup holders. ha ha. She's coming along slowly.
