Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Reference this post by the Hurstmeister - the book was issued with three different covers. Title is as written "GTR", text by Michael Cotton.

The main focus of this site though is F1 models and this fan has got quite a collection!
Harking back to this for a second - has anyone else got some more info on this? as in original / current pricing, full original content, production numbers etc

I was really disappointed by the Driving Ambitions. It's written for those who're far away from technic. It's for those who are collecting nice photos and quality printing.

It all depends on what you were expecting from the book; it is second to none with regards tracing the timeline of the development of a car [F1, GT and GTR's] yet to some who are very technically minded and were expecting such then yes, it may be a touch disappointing. On the whole though many more would be pleased with the book than disappointed

It's supposed to be an intimate story of it's development and the romance of it all.

How can one tell a Driving Ambition re-print from an original? You'd've thought having seen enough of them (approx 12 have passed through my hands) I would know the difference

Page 4, opposite the table of contents, is the copyright page. About 1/3 of the way down the page, all the books say, "First published in 1999 by Virgin Books", followed by the publisher's address. If the edition is a reprint, under the address it will say, "Reprinted in 2...".
The Limited Edition was published in 2000 only.
