Re: Boggin down

Is it driveable? Does it respond to the throttle if you give it gas, or just die no matter what you do? If it's the latter, I wonder if the catalytic converter is blocked.

What does this mean, how do we know the filter fixed the car, we still don't even know what this car is? Nor did the OP post anything.

Re: Boggin down

i only said the op should have posted back i did not say a filter fixed problem only that many things can cause his symtom of bogging. as far as the car he says its 84 conv which is listed in my old car price guide. i own 71,75,&76 eldo convertables and they are listed as fleetwood eldos.i fig the post suggesting bad cat may have solved problem but if op doesnt post back hes not helping anyone.sorry if you misunderstood!

Re: Boggin down

There are no factory built 84 Fleetwood convertibles, only American Sunroof Eldo Biarritz convertibles and they were aftermarket conversions. I was a Cadillac field rep in those days. I mis understood your post about the filter and why it was even brought up to begin with.

Re: Boggin down

you are correct they were not built in house but were sold by gm and are listed as eldo convertables in price book. he must have an eldo but is calling it fleetwood. He should still out of courtesy to all of us trying to help him and all that maybe helped even months from now when reading the outcome of his op should he post back. Thats all I was getting at.
