1971 Chevy Chevelle for sale (AL USA)

1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Sport CoupeYou have just stumbled across what many in the hobby refer to as a survivor car. A vehicle that has been so well cared for it has survived and maintained virtually all of its original components since new without any needed restoration, body work, major repairs, rust or any other issues. With only 26,563 original miles this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Sport Coupe is in its factory unrestored original condition. It has received 1 repaint in its lifetime which was within the past 12 months and the car was repainted to the original color. How did the car make it over 40 years like this? Well, it is purely due to loving and caring owners. The car has lived with the same family since being purchased new by the current owners mother in 1971. The car was her pride and joy. Something she cherished as more than just a mode of transportation. She passed the car down to her daughter who has continued to care for the car and kept it out of the weather. It has been garaged since new and has never seen salted roads or bad weather conditions. The car certainly does not look like it is 44 years old and by looking close you can tell it has been loved. The 1971 Chevelle body is very solid and all rust free. There are a couple of surface scratches but no dings or dents. The Mulsanne Blue paint is the original color and is paired with the original Black vinyl top. The glass is all in good shape and is framed in the original stainless trim pieces. The original bumpers are found in front and rear both of which still have a nice shining finish. The original wheels and hubcaps are found under all four corners and are wrapped in new thin white walled tires. Powering the car is the original L48 270 hp 4 barrel 350V8 in combination with a Turbo 350 transmission. Mechanically the car is very sound and scoots down the road with zero issues. All of the original options like power brakes, power steering and air condition are all in place and still working properly. The car really is very comfortable to drive and those power options make it easy enough for even the novice classic car enthusiast. Peak at the inside and you will see the original Black upholstery work still in place and in like new condition. All of the original knobs, switches and components are found on the dash but an aftermarket AIWA stereo system has been added below the dash. The original Chevelle steering wheel is still in place as is the column shifter. Black lap belts and shoulder belts are found up front with lap belts in the rear seat so the whole family can comfortably and safely cruise to the shows with you. The trunk offers extra storage space and houses the original spare. This car has a ton of life left in it and is a great example of the quality of build work put into these older classics. It also goes to show that with proper care and maintenance these cars can last as long as you want to.
