Losing power
Hi, I have 99 Renault Megane Scenic auto which today started to lose power when driving, mainly on accelerating. The only thing which seemed to work was to switch off ignition and start up again and drive off slowly. Had to call AA as was worried about getting home - he was very helpful in that he followed me home after he couldn't find out what was wrong!
Any assistance would be much appreciated as I really don't want to take to local Renault dealer after a few bad experiences with them. Thanks & regards. |

Re: Losing power
I had a similar problem with my old RX4 - one dealer "couldn't recreate the problem" despite it happening to me on the way to him and on the way home. Second Renault dealer (this time 70 miles away in Lowestoft) fixed it in a couple of hours - apparently a problem with a seal around the EMU or something - didn't sound like a diy job to me. My mate had a similar problem with his RX4 but I've never heard of it with other scenics until now.

Re: Losing power
Hi!
I'm with similar problem. The engine loss totaly power when revs reaches 3000 RPM. I had checked yet: EGR, Diesel Filter, Mass Airflow Meter, and a specialist "found" a problem with the Turbo Booster. Is it ??????? I'll be grateful if you can tell me any solution found. Many Thanks Ben Saccon |
