trouble codes
truck drove for about 12 miles and the transmissiom went into nutral and the engine shut off
it did this about three times and the finaly ran long enough to get to a gas station I put more gas in it and it ran fine back to the house. I did the KOEO test using the jump wire and engine light. it gave code 67 ..neutral/drive switch open code 52 ..power steering pressure circut open code 81 .. air management 2 failure i need to know whats happening here and what do i need to do to make it run right while the truck is running everything sounds and works right until it decides to go into neutral and die. it does not miss or splutter any sugestions welcome |

I have fixed code 81 the wire had got cut by somthing i slpiced it and code 52 was also a bad wire
now i just have code 67 which is confusing because it starts in park and the back up light work the best i can figure is there is a wire of some color that is also bad but i dont know what color to look for |

ok here we go. truck shut off today in middlE of the street rush hour of coarse
would start run for about 100 ft shut back off i took it to a near by garage theY said it was the module on the ditribitor so i went to the parts store bought one $28.00 truck had cooled off enough that it ran the rest off the way home with just a few splutters.(15mile). i pulled the module to change it but the one i bought was not correct one. the one on my distribitor has no prongs on it and the one i bought has three prongs so it put it back together and got the trouble codes again they are CODE 18 SPOUT CIRCUT OPEN OR SPARK ANGLE WORD FAILURE IDM CIRCUT FAILURE OR SPOUT CIRCUT GROUNDED CODE 41 HEGO SENSOR CIRCUT INDICATES SYSTEM LEAN OR NO HEGO SWITCHING DETECTED CODE 33 EGR VALVE OPENING NOT DETECTED CODE 29 INSUFFICEINT INPUT FROM VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CODE 67 NEUTRAL DRIVE SWITCH OPEN OR MLP SENSOROUT OF RANGE OR A/C ON (E4OD) MY DISTIBITOR HAS TWO PLUGS ONE ON THE FRONT OF THE DISTRIBITOR AND A ROUND ONE THAT GOES INSIDE OF IT NO IT DOES NOT START IN NEUTARL 1987 F150 5.0 EFI I TRIED ANOTHER DISTIBITOR FROM OLDER TRUCK WITH JUST ONE PLUG ON THE FRONT NO ROUND ONE THAT GOES IN IT .. WOULD NOT START now what the book telling what the codes mean is good i guess but it would be nice if they also said how to fix it and what they are. i really miss the carbutartor and points |

seems i have not got much choice , i will begin the process of removing the EFI and put a carb on it and Hei distributor on it but was I hoping to just fix it. but I guess the truck is smarter than we are. thanks anyway
