Air blows through different vents.
Hello, When I have the AC on it normally blows through the panel vents. When I step on the gas it blows through the defrost vents. Can anybody help me with what is wrong? Also the air is not cold, I had the evaporator changed and recharged.
Thank-you |

you have to attach a check valve in the system. when ever you accelerate or increase engine revs the air switches to defrost. go to chrysler dealership and ask for check valve 24-001-036 or dcc#04677204 and have them install it. It takes 30 seconds to do. Have them reference tsb 24-01-96...it cost me 10.90cdn. if you want to put it in yourself i can email you a pic

I had the same problem on my 96 and it was a vacuum leak in one of the lines and a valve.

I bet you have a cracked vac hose that leads to the cruse control servo that is under the battery. Replace that with some rubber hose from autozone and you should be fine. Save the old connectors from the old plastic hose. You will need them to use the new rubber hose.

You don't have to attach a check valve in the system. All you have to do is visually check your vac lines. It's probably the hard plastic hose that leads to the servo under the battery.
