Kickback on startup 2008
When I start the truck, I get a kickback on startup . backspin and then starts. 2008 escalade, 80000miles, 6.2 liter. what controls the timing? As if too much advance on start up. Runs fine otherwise.
Any thoughts on that? Last edited by gmburd; 02-08-2020 at 11:27 PM. |

Re: Kickback on startup 2008
It may be a good idea to check the crank position sensor and sensor phasing, and possibly perform a relearn. Failing that, there is a risk of damaging a starter or more. Been there:

Re: Kickback on startup 2008
Thanks bowtie. I'm thinking of replacing sensor. Is relearn automatic or dealer scan tool? Anything to do with coils?

Re: Kickback on startup 2008
Relearn is usually intiated with a bi-directional scanner.
