5 speed versus 6 speed
Is a 6 speed transmission any longer or bigger than a 5 speed for the same vehicle? How much bigger?

Re: 5 speed versus 6 speed
That's a very generic question that has to be answered with a generic answer . It depends on many variables , usually the 5 speed and the 6 speed are two totally different transmissions . That is they aren't ( usually ) the same model only with an extra gear . It also will differ from one manufacturer to another . In other words , they aren't standardized . A 5 speed and a 6 speed within the same manufacturer may be the same size and length . The optimum word here is " MAY ". The only way to know for sure is to look at the specifications as far as size is concerned . Are you talking about a specific transmission ? More info would help !
