I quite like the Esperante. It has a 320 hp cobra V8, should do 0-60 in 5 seconds, and looks really neat.
It is having some problems, though, with delayed production. Also, Dan Panoz is the guy who invented the patch to help you stop smoking. Nice to see he put his fortune to good use.:alien2:

Yeah, it's a wicked car.....second one from the Atlanta based company. It'll be plenty fast, have more exclusivity, and in my opinion be better looking than most of it's competition.

yep
There is an esperante at Exotic Imports, they say that it is one of only 15 produced, but that strikes me as odd that they would only make 15 of those beautiful cars.

It recently beat a Jaguar XK8 with the 20 inch wheels (not silverstone), and it was only a few points behind the 911 carrera convertible. Pretty good, IMO.

There is a Panoz GT1 street car that is limited to a low number like 15. I would guess the number is lower. I have yet to see one in real life. The Panoz GT1 is a nice looking car. The Esperante has great style.
Going back to the earlier posting, isn't it Don Panzo the wine maker, not Dan Panoz? |

I'm pretty sure there was only 1 Panoz GT1 streetcar, just enough to homologate it for FIA.
I think you're right, Danny owns the street car business, and Don owns the Chateau, the winery, Elan Motorsports Technologies, Panoz MotorSports, ALMS, the Panoz Race School, etc. FYI, the Esperante looks so much nicer in person, and there are more than 15 around...I saw at least that many, and probibly more when I went thru the factory this summer. Gotta love a car that Danny christens with donuts in the parking lot, before its delivered! |

I have seen a few Esperante in the flesh or should I say sheet metal. I like the over all look of the car. The back end reminds me of the newer Miatas. For the price I would lean towards other cars, but it would be a unqiue car to have. Panoz is still unknown by many. Hopefully they will continue to grow. We need all the American car builders we can get.
